The origin of “Studio Varetti” goes back to the far 1926, when accountant Vittorio Varetti started to carry out the consultancy activity, founding the namesake firm in Lucca, at the ground floor of civic number 2 of “Piazza del Palazzo Dipinto”. A square that at the time was the location of “the city”, where all the main professional firms had their headquarters: lawyers, engineers, technicians, accountants and notaries, all of proven and acknowledged experience. Not far from there, by the way, all of the main bank institutions, the Tribunal, the Chamber of Commerce and, back then, also the Court of Appeal, were located.
Soon after World-War-2, thanks to the general recovery and to a situation that in Italy was called “economic miracle”, that square became a true and proper business centre; there wasn’t a single relevant matter not to be dealt with by the professionals of “Palazzo Dipinto”.
The founder came to pass in 1977, after more than fifty years of professional activity during which the Firm had acquired an important role within the local economic world.
Almost all the industrialists and merchants in Lucca, also from the suburbs of Porcari and Capannori, the shipyards in Viareggio and the marble-sector traders were clients of the Firm. Today the Firm’s archive still safeguards with care and privacy the history of the old times most important industries in Lucca, protagonists of the business, banking, industrial and trade world.
After the departing of the founder, his son Alberto, who is a professional himself and had been at the time his father’s valid collaborator for a long time, moved the Firm to an area just outside the ancient city walls. The headquarters are today located on a premises comprising two separate buildings within an elegant and welcoming private garden on the circular road outside the historical city centre. “Studio Varetti” is easily reachable from all of Lucca’s major routes, few hundred yards away from the Lucca-East exit of the A11 (E76) motorway.
Alberto Varetti has brought forth the Firm’s activity continuing the trend started by his father, also carrying on a teaching activity at the Universities of Pisa and Urbino as a professor in Professional and Applied Accountancy. He has been for many years counsellor for the bank “Mediocredito Regionale Toscano”, he also was, for a decade, president of the local bank “Cassa di Risparmio” and also president of “Ducato spa”, a financial institution.
During the years Alberto Varetti has continued the family tradition, taking to his side, first his nephew, Dr CCA Liban Ahmed Mohamed, and in a second time his son and daughter Dr Vittorio Varetti and CPA Eva Varetti. Other expert professionals and collaborators, external to the family, work for “Studio Varetti” as well. Today the Firm operates within the structures belonging to the Varetti family with the contribution of knowledge and competence of several professionals with independent civil and fiscal positions, tied among themselves by a relationship based on mutual esteem, trust and cooperation. The best assistance is guaranteed to the clients thanks to the professional specializations available within the Firm and the ability to work as a team that is characteristic of all the associates.
“Studio Varetti” maintains the professional-activity’s handcraft style and it is only marginally oriented towards those tax related services known as tax compliance. The Firm rather manages those aspects related to the health of companies, their growth also at international level and the juridical form, with a particular sensitivity towards family business or activities owned by few partners, and also the aspects related to generational take over or company sale and merger. Our professionals also take on positions, on appointment and for the interest of the clients, in the management board of the clients’ companies, or in the control institutions as board of statutory auditors, or as auditors.
